About
Justine Medrano
I am a trauma therapist based in Northern Los Angeles, California, that advocates to destigmatize mental health through my podcast Chismes y Consejos. I specialize in trauma such as sexual abuse, crimes, abuse, minority mental health, and family conflict and addiction. I work to empower my clients to work towards reducing negative feelings, gain autonomy and control of their lives as well as step into their worth and power.
Many times humans hear what is being said to them, but they seldom listen to the information. I take pride in my ability to both listen and hear what you share with me. I believe attuning with my clients is important and helps foster a healthy relationship in a safe space. It does not stop at words, I find that mindfulness connects your words to what your body is trying to communicate as well. Through my work with clients, I have seen clients grow, overcome challenges, and break through walls of anxiety, anger, resentment, and stagnation.

Experience
I'm a Mental Health Therapist
Throughout my life I was always placed in areas of mental health while pursing other career paths such as Criminology and Law. I finally listened to my calling and began to pursue and solidify my passion in guiding others toward their healing as an LMFT. I have exposure to various mental health programs including mentally ill parolees, residential detox and addiction programs, outpatient, and crisis and stabilization services with clients’ ages 0-40+ years old. This has provided me with vast experience with a variety of populations and people navigating life’s hardships and challenges. Through my various education and experience I have gained several credentials and trainings that inform my practice today.
